The Community Care Fund is a powerful way to make a difference in our community. The fund is made up of the undesignated donations from the annual campaign. Those dollars are then invested to support more than 200 programs run by over 90 member agencies, making a real impact in our community in these areas:

Education
Helping children, youth and adults achieve their potential through education. Achieving results will be accomplished by: (1) improving access to quality, affordable child care and early learning opportunities; (2) providing after-school and mentoring programs for at-risk youth; and (3) providing literacy education to adults.

Income
Helping families become financially stable and independent. This endeavor will be accomplished by: (1) supporting basic needs while increasing financial education; (2) helping hardworking people obtain job training and family-sustaining wages; and (3) increasing affordable housing for seniors and families.

Health
Improving people’s health. Accomplishing results in the area of Health will be achieved by: (1) increasing access to critical healthcare services; (2) reducing substance abuse, child abuse and domestic violence; and (3) increasing health education and preventive care.

Here are four reasons why the Community Care Fund is the way to donate to United Way:

  1. Giving to United Way is effective. Among charitable organizations United Way stands out because we raise funds efficiently. Our costs are low. Out standards are high. We put money to work, so when you give, you can feel good about making a difference. In fact, when you give to the Community Care fund, 88% of your contribution goes toward program services in our community.
  2. Trained volunteers evaluate and fund only the most vital and effective programs to ensure that your money is well invested.
  3. Your gift will go far, but not far away. When you give to United Way, your money stays right here in the Central Carolinas, supporting program in our community.
  4. We are a key community network. United Way collaborates with government, businesses, foundations and other organizations to make the most of local resources and intensify the impact of every dollar.
