 About Us
United Way of Central Carolinas is led by executive director Jane McIntyre, who joined the organization in August 2009 after leading the successful turnaround of the YWCA Central Carolinas. She reports to a newly reconstituted Board of Directors, which was reduced in size from 68 members to the current 22, 13 of whom are new. The new board took office January 1, 2010. Since 1931, United Way of Central Carolinas has been serving the Charlotte area. Today, this United Way serves a five-county region that includes Anson, Cabarrus, Charlotte/Mecklenburg, Mooresville/Lake Norman, and Union.
